Presidential candidate Akere Muna of the Univers party has released his detailed plan for the first 100 days in office, should he be elected in the 2025 Cameroonian presidential election.
The program prioritizes local development, transparent governance, and the reinforcement of democracy, placing citizens at the heart of government action.
The plan begins with an emergency program for local development.
Muna intends to conduct a rapid assessment of urgent needs across Cameroon’s 360 municipalities, identifying the human and financial resources required to meet basic necessities such as drinking water, functional schools, primary healthcare, road infrastructure, and civil status services.
Multinationality is another priority.
Muna promises immediate measures to facilitate travel for Cameroonians living abroad while advocating for an amendment to establish the principle of multinationality.
“Cameroonian by birth, Cameroonian forever,” he stated, underscoring his commitment to citizens both at home and abroad.
A cornerstone of the plan is a general state audit of public finances.
Muna highlighted the opacity in managing state revenues and debt, particularly within public enterprises. He proposes an independent and comprehensive audit to ensure transparency, enabling accurate resource assessments, realistic economic reforms, and reliable development planning. “Real progress begins with transparency,” Muna said.
The candidate also emphasizes inclusive dialogue as the path to lasting peace.
He noted that Cameroon continues to suffer from the legacy of colonial tensions, with ongoing conflict in the Northwest and Southwest regions leaving communities devastated.
Muna advocates a sincere national dialogue addressing the root causes of the crisis, extending urgent attention to all distressed regions.
Finally, Muna’s program focuses on strengthening democracy and governance.
He aims to reform the country’s rigid, centralized administrative structures, ensuring the separation of powers, expanding civil society participation, and empowering the private sector as a driver of sustainable economic growth.
“This transformation will modernize governance and prepare Cameroonians for a new era,” he said.
The candidate’s plan presents a bold framework for immediate action, with a focus on transparency, inclusivity, and citizen-centered governance, positioning his campaign around urgent reforms and long-term stability.
