Burkina Faso envoy hails blossoming ties with China at Beijing media seminar

Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to China, His Excellency Daouda Bitié, has commended the strengthening of diplomatic and cultural ties between Ouagadougou and Beijing, describing the relationship as a model of mutual respect and cooperation.
The ambassador made the remarks on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the International Media Seminar, which concluded on May 28 in Beijing.
“Experience-sharing activities are key pillars of cooperation between our two countries.
In addition to capacity building and human capital training, these initiatives promote cultural exchange that fosters better mutual understanding,” said Ambassador Bitié, addressing an audience of media professionals and Chinese officials.
Since the formal restoration of diplomatic ties in May 2018, bilateral relations between Burkina Faso and China have deepened steadily, driven by shared priorities and a mutual commitment to development.
Ambassador Bitié pointed to the seminar and a series of technical training programs as tangible examples of how the two nations are working together.
According to the ambassador, these exchanges are more than symbolic; they reflect a durable and practical partnership.
“The Chinese authorities’ vision of strengthening the skills of Burkinabe government officials in key development sectors is concrete proof of the excellence of our cooperation, which places great emphasis on the transfer of experience and skills,” he noted.
Spanning three weeks from May 8 to 28, the International Media Seminar was hosted by the Chinese government and welcomed media executives from both the public and private sectors of Burkina Faso.
The program featured a robust curriculum including lectures on artificial intelligence, digital content creation, and the evolution of new media landscapes.
Participants also embarked on field visits to leading companies, educational institutions, and major media outlets across Beijing, Jinan, and Qingdao.
These engagements provided firsthand insights into China’s rapidly advancing media ecosystem and its integration of cutting-edge technologies.
The seminar marks yet another milestone in the growing partnership between the two nations—one that both sides appear eager to sustain and expand.
