The Bobo-Dioulasso Court of Appeal has announced the launch of Open Days (Journées Portes Ouvertes) for all local courts, scheduled from Thursday, June 26 to Friday, June 27, 2025.
The event, themed “Justice and the Construction of Social Peace,” will take place within the courthouse and aims to strengthen the bond between justice institutions and the public.
Under the high patronage of the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, responsible for Relations with Institutions, these Open Days are part of the broader National Criminal Policy adopted on March 4, 2024.
This policy prioritizes enhancing the psychological accessibility of public justice services, aiming to bring the judicial system closer to citizens.
Alongside the central theme, the event will address critical topics such as community service and the role of mining companies in Burkina Faso’s socio-economic development.
These subjects will be explored through a series of conferences and panel discussions designed to foster dialogue and awareness.
The overarching goal of the Open Days is to highlight justice’s fundamental role in conflict resolution and the promotion of lasting social peace within the region.
The people of Bobo-Dioulasso and its environs are warmly encouraged to participate in this initiative, which seeks to demystify the workings of the judicial system and reinforce public trust.
Adama Kafando, Attorney General at the Bobo Court of Appeal, explained that the event will feature information stands where visitors can learn about the functions of the courts, the roles of legal assistants, judicial police officers, and Water and Forestry agents.
Additionally, a dedicated space will be set up for REN-LAC, the National Anti-Corruption Network.
The official opening ceremony is set for Thursday, June 26, at 8 a.m. in the courtyard of the Bobo-Dioulasso Court of Appeal, marking the beginning of this important effort to bring justice closer to the people.
