A deep sense of shock and grief has gripped the academic community in Abomey-Calavi following the discovery of a young man’s body hanging from a tree in the Zogbadjè university district on Tuesday morning, June 24, 2025.
According to local media outlet L’Investigateur, the deceased is believed to be a student enrolled at the Faculty of Economics and Management (FASEG) at the University of Abomey-Calavi.
His lifeless body was found under circumstances that have since prompted an official investigation.
“His body was discovered hanging from a tree.
An investigation is underway to shed light on the circumstances of the tragedy,” the report stated.
