Benin recalls multiple ambassadors in major diplomatic shake-up

This comprehensive diplomatic shift affects numerous Beninese embassies worldwide.
According to the media outlet, the diplomats have already been informed and are expected to return to Cotonou in the coming days.
Bip Radio highlights that traditionally, diplomats do not remain in a single post for more than three to four years.
Since President Patrice Talon’s administration began, significant changes have been implemented, including the closure of several embassies.
In 2020, Benin’s diplomatic map was restructured to feature only ten embassies abroad. Another notable change in the diplomatic sector was the departure of Aurélien Agbénonci.
