
A forty-year-old man was found dead in Lake Togbadji on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, in Agbédranfo, a village in the Ayomi district of Dogbo commune, Benin. The discovery, which has left the local community in shock, was made by residents who immediately alerted the village chief.
Joseph Gninou Zimazi, chief of the Ayomi district, confirmed the discovery and said local authorities were quickly notified. Following the alert, the CA contacted the local police commissioner, who arrived at the scene with officers to carry out preliminary investigations.
The body was subsequently transported to the morgue of Aplahoué district hospital, where a forensic doctor conducted an initial external examination to assess for any injuries or signs of violence. “I have not yet received the medical examiner’s report,” the CA told the press, highlighting that the investigation is ongoing.
