University President Dr. Nasser El Gizawy stated that the wide-ranging activities—carried out between September 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025—were supervised by the university’s General Directorate for Student Welfare.
“These initiatives demonstrate the university’s strategic commitment to nurturing student talents, enhancing leadership potential, and encouraging creativity, all of which prepare students to serve their communities meaningfully,” said Dr. El Gizawy.
The extensive programme encompassed cultural, artistic, athletic, scientific, technological, social, and public service domains.
Highlights included national-scale events such as the University Theatre Festival, which featured original performances tackling critical societal and national themes, and competitions in choral music and religious chanting that revealed a rich reservoir of emerging talent.
Art workshops and exhibitions in applied arts showcased student creativity, while a series of scientific forums and innovation meetups promoted critical thinking.
Specialized workshops explored artificial intelligence, scientific research tools, and software development, while robotics competitions spotlighted students’ technical prowess.
Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Jehan Abdel Hadi, affirmed that student activities are integral to the educational process, extending thanks to Dr. Khaled Issawy, General Coordinator for Student Activities, and Ibrahim Abdullah, Director of Student Welfare, for their dedicated efforts.
Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Director of the Leadership Development Institute, praised the university as “a successful model in integrating innovation, culture, and sports into a comprehensive student experience.
” He emphasized that Benha University is actively contributing to Egypt’s human development goals through an inclusive, dynamic learning environment.
The university also organized awareness campaigns on pressing issues such as addiction, gender-based violence, and cyber extortion.
Additional programming included national and religious celebrations, creative writing contests, intellectual forums, and cultural trivia tournaments to encourage healthy competition.
