Bank misr and misr El kheir foundation launch strategic partnership to advance digital finance and healthcare inclusion

Bank Misr has signed two pivotal cooperation protocols with the Misr El Kheir Foundation, marking a significant step forward in Egypt’s digital transformation and healthcare accessibility efforts.
The agreement includes the full digitisation of the foundation’s financial transactions and the launch of five specialised medical convoys aimed at serving people with disabilities in five key governorates: Dakahlia, Sharqia, Alexandria, Beheira, and Minya.
The protocols were signed by Hisham Okasha, CEO of Bank Misr, and Dr. Ali Gomaa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr El Kheir Foundation. Also present at the signing ceremony were senior officials from both organisations, including Hossam El Din Abdel Wahab, Deputy CEO of Bank Misr, and Dr. Mohamed Refai, CEO of the foundation.
The first protocol will see the complete automation of all payments and collections related to the foundation, in alignment with Egypt’s national strategy for financial inclusion and the transition to a cashless society. “This partnership enhances transparency and enables real-time financial operations, especially for individuals with disabilities,” stated Okasha. He added that the initiative is a part of Bank Misr’s broader digital strategy, aimed at easing payment processes and delivering integrated banking solutions.
The second protocol targets the implementation of medical convoys to provide free, specialised healthcare services. These services include early disease detection, treatment, and rehabilitation, tailored specifically to people with special needs. The convoys will also offer psychological and social support, aligning with Egypt Vision 2030’s emphasis on integrating individuals with disabilities into all aspects of society—education, employment, healthcare, and social life.
Dr. Ali Gomaa remarked, “Today’s protocols represent a new chapter in our strategic cooperation with Bank Misr. Whether in the realm of digital transformation or healthcare, this partnership supports our mission of sustainable development.”
He added that digitalising the foundation’s financial operations would significantly reduce processing time and mitigate risks associated with cash transactions. Dr. Gomaa also underscored the foundation’s commitment to expanding its medical outreach programs, stating, “We are determined to enhance healthcare access for people with disabilities and address their needs comprehensively.”
This cooperation is set to span one year and includes a range of sub-agreements. Dr. Gomaa praised Bank Misr for its historic role in Egypt’s development, noting its legacy of over 105 years in public service.
Bank Misr continues to position itself as a key driver of national progress, actively participating in initiatives that reflect the needs of all societal segments. With a strong focus on digital innovation and social responsibility, the bank reaffirms its dedication to Egypt’s development goals and long-term prosperity.
