Arab contractors explores major infrastructure projects in Angola Amid strengthening Bilateral ties

Angolan President João Lourenço has welcomed a high-level delegation from Egypt’s leading construction firm, Arab Contractors, to discuss potential large-scale infrastructure collaborations in Angola.
The meeting, held in the capital Luanda, brought together President Lourenço and Eng. Ahmed El-Assar, Chairman of Arab Contractors, accompanied by key senior officials including Eng. Heba Aboul-Ela, Vice Chairwoman of the Board, Eng.
Hassan Hassoun, Head of the West Africa Sector, and Eng. Hany Khalil, Director of the Engineering Department for Transport Projects.
At the start of the discussions, President Lourenço extended a warm welcome to the Egyptian delegation and praised the long-standing and growing ties between Angola and Egypt.
He acknowledged the momentum generated in recent months through reciprocal visits, including the most recent trip by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Luanda.
The Angolan leader expressed admiration for the scale and ambition of Egypt’s recent development projects, including major infrastructure works and new urban developments.
The discussions focused on exploring avenues for Arab Contractors to take part in similar transformational projects within Angola.
President Lourenço also lauded Arab Contractors for its sterling reputation across Africa. “We recognize the company’s strong track record and deep commitment to excellence on the continent,” he stated.
The visit marks a significant step in deepening economic cooperation between the two nations and highlights Angola’s interest in leveraging Egyptian expertise to support its own infrastructure goals. Talks are ongoing to determine the nature and scope of projects Arab Contractors may undertake in the country.
