The National Youth Institute (IAJ) and the Provincial Government of Icolo and Bengo (GPIB) have joined forces to develop a comprehensive agenda aimed at empowering young people across the province.
During a high-level meeting on Monday, both entities outlined collaborative initiatives designed to equip youth with essential skills and knowledge to face social and economic challenges in Angola.
At the heart of the discussions was a commitment to launching a series of targeted workshops and training cycles. Among the highlighted programs is a Workshop on combating human trafficking among youth, a topic increasingly pressing in the region.
The training also extends to other crucial areas including youth entrepreneurship, tax citizenship, and social guidance, all geared toward fostering responsible, engaged, and economically active citizens.
“During the meeting, joint actions to be developed in the coming days were aligned, with emphasis on the Workshop on combating human trafficking among youth,” the IAJ said in a statement following the meeting.
This strategic alignment signals a deepening partnership between the central youth authority and local governance, united by a shared vision of nurturing a generation that is both socially conscious and economically productive.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between policy and practical empowerment by offering young people access to tools and platforms that enhance their participation in national development.
The collaboration is seen as a significant step in consolidating efforts to create a more resilient, informed, and proactive youth population in Angola.
Both institutions reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring that the country’s young people are not only protected from emerging threats like human trafficking but are also empowered to thrive as entrepreneurs and active citizens.
With these coordinated efforts, the IAJ and the GPIB are laying the groundwork for sustainable youth development, anchoring it in education, awareness, and civic responsibility.
