Civil Protection authorities have reported three separate forest fires breaking out across different provinces, prompting ongoing firefighting and prevention operations as the country confronts rising vegetation blaze risks.
In Bordj Bou Arreridj province, a forest fire ignited in the Qaryou area along Bouni road within Thniat Ennasr municipality. Emergency teams swiftly brought the blaze under control, though vigilance remains high as surveillance continues to prevent potential flare-ups.
Meanwhile, in Tebessa province, firefighters successfully extinguished a forest fire that erupted in the Jabal al-Hawd region of Marsat municipality.
Preventive security measures have been maintained to ensure the fire does not reignite.
The situation remains more challenging in Jijel province, where a forest fire in the Ben Hay Bouchemissa area of Sidi Maarouf municipality is still being actively battled. Civil defense units continue their efforts to contain the flames and limit their spread amid difficult terrain.
The Civil Protection’s early Monday update at 8 a.m. highlighted the resilience and coordination of emergency responders across the affected areas, emphasising the importance of sustained vigilance during this period of heightened fire risk.
As Algeria faces increasing threats from wildfires during this season, the authorities are urging residents and visitors alike to exercise caution, report any signs of fire promptly, and respect local regulations to prevent human-caused ignitions.
