Salma Bekhta Mansouri, Algeria’s Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, held a high-level meeting today with Gainmore Zanamwe, Director of Trade Facilitation and Investment Promotion at the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Algiers and included a delegation from Afreximbank.
The discussions focused on progress surrounding the preparations for the highly anticipated fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), scheduled to be held in Algiers from 4 to 10 September 2025.
Both sides reaffirmed the strategic importance of the upcoming trade fair, which is seen as a cornerstone event to promote intra-African commerce and regional investment.
The IATF, organized by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union and other key stakeholders, serves as a unique platform for connecting African businesses, governments, and investors across sectors.
During the talks, Mansouri and Zanamwe emphasized the need for continued coordination with relevant African partners to ensure the success of the event.
“The fair represents a major economic opportunity for the continent, and it is essential that we work closely together to maximize its impact,” the parties agreed.
The meeting underscored Algeria’s commitment to advancing African integration and trade, in line with the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
By hosting the IATF 2025, Algeria aims to position itself as a regional hub for commerce and investment, while facilitating stronger economic ties among African nations.
As preparations intensify, the upcoming fair is expected to attract thousands of participants, including heads of state, business leaders, trade experts, and financial institutions, solidifying its role as a major milestone in Africa’s economic transformation.
