AFRICA: Moniepoint earns global spotlight as one of the world’s top fintech firms

African digital banking powerhouse Moniepoint has been named among the world’s top fintech companies in the 2024 rankings released by CNBC in partnership with Statista.
The recognition cements Moniepoint’s growing influence across global financial markets, with the company now serving more than 10 million users across Africa. Its inclusion on the prestigious list comes on the back of an impressive $22 billion in monthly transaction volume and recent strides into diaspora markets via its MonieWorld platform.
Founded in 2015 by entrepreneurs Tosin Eniolorunda and Felix Ike, Moniepoint has emerged as a critical financial bridge for Africa’s vast informal economy. It has been widely celebrated for driving inclusive banking services to underserved communities and entrepreneurs across the continent.
The company’s listing follows a series of international accolades. In June 2025, Moniepoint was featured in the TIME100 Most Influential Companies list. It has also appeared for three consecutive years in the Financial Times’ Africa Fastest-Growing Companies ranking.
Moniepoint Group CEO, Tosin Eniolorunda, praised the global recognition and acknowledged the role of the company’s staff in reaching the milestone. “This validates our mission to empower African entrepreneurs,” he said.
The CNBC global fintech list assessed 250 companies using a combination of factors including revenue growth, capital raised, and the overall scale of operations. Moniepoint now stands shoulder to shoulder with major fintech innovators around the world, underlining the rise of African tech on the global stage.
