Kitoko Gata Ngoulou, recently appointed as Chad’s Minister of Women and Early Childhood Development, has officially held her first meeting with the ministry’s staff following her appointment on 16 July 2025.
The gathering, which took place on Monday, 28 July, was described by the ministry’s communications office as a moment marked by both solemnity and warm human connection.
The meeting served as an initial opportunity for Minister Ngoulou to engage directly with her department and outline the direction of her leadership.
In her opening remarks, the minister praised the President’s “enlightened vision,” citing in particular the importance of “Chantier 5” — a national priority programme aimed at strengthening human capital across the country.
“Chantier 5 accords a central place to women and children,” she stated, affirming her commitment to advancing its goals.
She underscored the crucial role of her ministry in realising the national development strategy and reiterated her determination to work collaboratively with all staff in building a more inclusive and equitable future for women and children in Chad.
This first meeting sets the tone for Ngoulou’s tenure at the ministry, as she assumes responsibility for one of the most socially impactful portfolios in the Chadian government.
The appointment of Kitoko Gata Ngoulou is seen as a strategic step towards amplifying women’s voices and rights in a country where gender equity and child development remain critical challenges.
Her leadership comes at a time when both national and international actors are closely monitoring progress in Chad’s human development sectors.
As the country continues to implement reforms under the broader framework of the government’s transformation agenda, the Ministry of Women and Early Childhood Development is expected to play a vital role in shaping policy and delivering tangible results for future generations.
