Moov Africa Gabon Telecom has marked a significant milestone, recording over 1.6 million mobile customers as of June 30, 2025.
The operator’s parent company, the Maroc Telecom group, revealed this figure in its recently published half-year results, highlighting Gabon as a key market within its African portfolio.
Alongside its robust mobile base, Moov Africa Gabon Telecom boasts a substantial fixed-line subscriber count of 72,000, ranking it among the largest fixed-line providers within the group’s international operations.
While Mali leads with 238,000 fixed-line users, and Burkina Faso follows with 69,000, Gabon’s figures demonstrate strong growth in this segment.
Despite operating in a challenging environment marked by fierce competition and stringent regulatory frameworks, the Maroc Telecom group has expanded its overall customer base to over 80 million subscribers, with 57.5 million outside Morocco.
This growth underscores the group’s resilience and strategic positioning across multiple African markets.
Moov Africa Gabon Telecom’s rising subscriber numbers confirm its status as a major telecommunications player in Gabon, contributing to the group’s ongoing ambition to strengthen connectivity and digital access throughout the continent. With continued investment and innovation, the operator is well-positioned to meet Gabon’s increasing demand for reliable mobile and fixed-line services.
The company’s progress reflects broader trends in Africa’s telecommunications sector, where expanding mobile penetration and digital infrastructure are reshaping economies and societies. As Moov Africa Gabon Telecom builds on this momentum, Gabon stands to benefit from enhanced communication networks vital for economic development and social inclusion.
