The National Center for Meteorology has forecast a contrast in weather across Libya, with moderate temperatures and rising humidity expected in the north, while the southern regions continue to endure sweltering heat.
According to the Center, conditions between Ras Jedir and Sirte, as well as the Jfara Plain and the Nafusa Mountains, will remain clear to partly cloudy.
Moderate northwesterly winds are expected, becoming more active along the coast during the evening. Maximum temperatures across these areas are projected to range between 29°C and 35°C, with noticeable humidity along the shoreline.
In the Gulf region and the Benghazi Plain stretching to Amsaid, skies will also be mostly clear to partly cloudy. Cloud cover is expected to increase over the Green Mountain on Monday, accompanied by moderate to brisk northwesterly winds.
Daytime temperatures will range from 31°C to 36°C, though a slight cooling trend is forecast for tomorrow, paired with higher humidity along the coasts.
Further inland, across Al-Jufra, Sabha, Ghat, Ghadames, and Al-Hamada, skies will remain largely clear, though patches of cloud are expected over the Haruj Al-Sawda region. Winds will vary between light and moderate, while maximum temperatures will hover between 41°C and 43°C. A small temperature drop is anticipated in some areas tomorrow.
The oases of Sarir, Tazirbu, and Kufra will see similar conditions, with mostly clear skies and occasional cloud development near border regions. Northwesterly winds, light to moderate in speed, will prevail, as temperatures remain between 41°C and 43°C.
The National Center of Meteorology projects a notable drop in temperatures across most parts of Libya by midweek, offering some respite from the intense heat gripping the south.
