Cameroon sports Minister denounce “pure manipulation” amid marc brys resignation rumours

In an official statement issued on Tuesday, the minister called the reports of Brys’ resignation “unfounded” and a result of “pure manipulation.”

“The information circulating about the alleged resignation of the Head Coach of the Indomitable Lions is baseless and constitutes pure manipulation,” said Professor Mouelle Kombi.

The minister also addressed concerns surrounding the coach’s salary, confirming that all outstanding payments had been fully settled by the Ministry of Finance as of July 18, 2025. This clarification, he said, removes any uncertainty regarding the state’s financial commitment to the Belgian tactician.

“The arrears have been cleared. This demonstrates the government’s full support for the coach in fulfilling his duties,” he said.

Highlighting Brys’ performance since his appointment, Mouelle Kombi praised the coach’s achievements and reaffirmed the government’s confidence in his leadership.

“In view of the commendable results obtained by Mr. Marc Brys since his appointment, the Ministry wishes to renew its full confidence in him and assure him of the government’s unwavering support in fulfilling his mission,” the minister stated.

The minister also sent a pointed message to the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), urging the body to exercise restraint, composure, and a sense of patriotism and responsibility in its dealings with the technical staff.

The remarks come amid persistent tensions between the Sports Ministry and FECAFOOT over the management of the national team. These internal disagreements have frequently spilled into the public domain, raising concerns about the stability of the coaching setup.

As Cameroon prepares for crucial fixtures, the call for unity between football’s key institutions is growing louder, with national performance hanging in the balance.
