Minister of Youth and Sports, Keamou Bogola Haba, continued his nationwide tour to promote the draft of Guinea’s new Constitution with a dynamic visit to Mandiana on July 23, 2025.
Accompanied by Minister of Communication Fana Soumah and Secretary General for Religious Affairs Karamo Diawara, the delegation was warmly welcomed at the Mandiana Youth Center, where an energized crowd gathered to engage in spirited discussions.
The visit followed earlier stops in Kankan, Kouroussa, Kérouané, and Siguiri, forming part of a comprehensive outreach aimed at familiarizing citizens with the constitutional draft.
Residents praised the government’s approach, highlighting the importance of proximity and attentive governance, a sentiment echoed by the president of the special delegation.
Authorities called on the public to embrace the new Constitution and stressed the urgent need to translate its contents into local languages.
“We must reach every village, every household, even the most remote corners,” officials declared, urging territorial administrators, elected representatives, and community leaders to play pivotal roles in this ambitious national effort.
A key feature of the visit was a dedicated forum with local elders, respected as custodians of peace and social cohesion. Together, they explored the challenges posed by the constitutional text and reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to national unity.
Prior to Mandiana, the delegation made a significant impact in Kankan, Upper Guinea’s largest city, where they formally submitted the draft Constitution to a broad coalition of local authorities, including the governor, prefects, religious leaders, and opinion shapers. The occasion also saw the ceremonial laying of the foundation stone for the “Emergence of Kankan” complex — an ambitious multi-purpose development envisioned as a modern Blue Zone.
This visionary project promises to transform Kankan’s cultural and social landscape, featuring a cinema, sports fields, concert hall, swimming pool, library, and startup incubators. Designed as a vibrant hub for youth and cultural innovation, the complex aims to ignite local dynamism and foster sustainable development.
As Guinea moves forward with these efforts, the government’s outreach highlights a shared aspiration: a constitution that reflects the voices and hopes of all citizens, anchored in dialogue, inclusion, and progress.
