As the countdown to Guinea’s constitutional referendum intensifies, Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah has deployed members of his government across the nation’s eight administrative regions in a sweeping campaign to educate the population on the proposed constitutional reforms.
The awareness drive, set in motion in anticipation of the 21 September 2025 referendum, is seen as a critical step in ensuring informed participation among Guineans.
In an official letter addressed to ministers, the Prime Minister emphasized the campaign as “a decisive phase in the process,” underscoring the collective responsibility of the government to guarantee a widespread and clear understanding of the constitutional draft throughout the national territory.
“It is in this spirit that a regional allocation of government members has been arranged to ensure nationwide coverage of the campaign to publicize the draft Constitution,” the letter states.
“The aim is to foster close dialogue with communities, present the contents of the text to be submitted for referendum, and gather perceptions and expectations voiced across the country.”
According to the deployment schedule, ministers will be in the field from Thursday, 17 July to Friday, 18 July 2025, with their return slated for Tuesday, 22 July.
The document accompanying the Prime Minister’s correspondence details the assigned regions and outlines the logistics of the campaign.
In his closing remarks, Prime Minister Bah urged all government members to “strictly adhere” to the implementation guidelines outlined in the attached deployment chart, highlighting the importance of a coordinated and effective communication effort.
