GOUNDI, CHAD – In a key step toward revitalising local healthcare delivery, the Chadian Community Association for Progress (ATCP) was formally installed on Saturday, June 21, as the official partner responsible for spearheading health interventions in the Goundi district.
The installation ceremony was presided over by the Prefect of Goundi Department, Soungar Moursal.
Held in the presence of administrative, traditional, religious, and health authorities, the event marks a new chapter in the region’s efforts to strengthen public health systems and respond to local needs with greater efficiency.
The ATCP is expected to serve as a key implementing partner in the delivery of health services, working in tandem with public institutions to improve healthcare outcomes across the district.
In his address, the mayor of Goundi and the local canton chief extended their gratitude to the Chadian government, particularly the Ministries of Public Health and Prevention and Territorial Administration.
They commended the “foresight and leadership” that led to the reactivation of the ATCP in the region—a move widely welcomed by the local community.
The Provincial Delegate for Public Health and Prevention reaffirmed the government’s full backing, pledging the Delegation’s support to ensure the success of ATCP’s mission. “We are ready to provide every necessary resource to help the ATCP improve the health conditions of our people,” he said.
Prefect Moursal, delivering the keynote speech, called on the ATCP’s leadership to rise to the occasion. “We are counting on your wisdom, your innovation, and your unwavering commitment,” he stated. “The challenges are many, but the administration stands firmly beside you.”
As Goundi faces ongoing healthcare demands ranging from infrastructure gaps to access issues, the ATCP’s reinstatement is seen as a vital move toward delivering more responsive and community-driven solutions.
