Seven exceptional learners from the Afotobo Vocational and Technical Training Centre (CFPTA) in Béoumi were recognised on Friday, June 20, during the institution’s 2025 Excellence Day, an event aimed at promoting academic commitment and encouraging healthy competition among students.
The awards ceremony, held within the grounds of the vocational centre, celebrated the top-performing students in the disciplines of metal construction, masonry, and carpentry. Six prizes were handed out, including a distinguished award for the best overall student. Recipients were presented with certificates of merit and work kits containing professional tools essential for their future careers.
Highlighting the importance of dedicated leadership, Koné Klebin Maxime, the school’s censor, was also honoured for his steadfast dedication and instrumental role in advan1cing the centre’s vision under the leadership of Director Adoumangan Yaotché Paul.
Currently, the CFPTA trains 107 students, including 41 final-year interns preparing to sit the Professional Aptitude Certificate (CAP).
During his remarks, Mr. Adoumangan emphasised the significance of the event, stating: “This ceremony aims to encourage students to excel.”
He called on graduates to pursue continuous development in real-world work environments, underlining the necessity of hands-on experience for successful professional integration.
Representing the regional director of Technical Education and Vocational Training for the Gbêkê region, Kouakou Modeste encouraged students to apply their training diligently: “Use the knowledge acquired here to successfully enter the professional world,” he advised.
Among the awardees was Fofana Ali, a third-year intern, who expressed his gratitude for the recognition and appreciation for the centre’s supportive leadership.
Entry into the Afotobo CFPTA is competitive, open to students from the 5th grade onwards, with the next entrance examination scheduled for August.
The centre is calling on young people to register in large numbers and seize the opportunity to learn skilled trades and secure their futures through practical, hands-on training.
