Tanzania embarks on railway modernization with electric trains from South Korea
According to The Citizen, the arrival of these state-of-the-art trains will revolutionize travel between major cities in Tanzania.
An express service between Dar es Salaam and Morogoro is slated to launch on July 5th, dramatically cutting travel time from four hours by bus to just 40 minutes by train.
Tanzania’s investment in its rail network is part of a broader strategy to enhance connectivity and economic growth.
In total, the country has purchased 10 train sets, including locomotives and carriages, from the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai Rotem.
This fleet will be pivotal in facilitating efficient passenger and freight transport across the nation.
