Burkina Faso condemns “Barbaric” terror attack in Turkey
Burkina Faso has strongly condemned the deadly terror attack that took place near Ankara, Turkey’s capital, describing it as a “barbaric and cowardly” act.
The attack, which occurred on Wednesday outside the headquarters of Turkey’s defense industries, left at least five people dead and over 20 others injured.
In a statement on Thursday, Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, expressed solidarity with the Turkish people and their President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“I offer my deepest compassion and solidarity to the people of Turkey and to President Erdoğan following this tragic and senseless attack,” Traoré said.
He also condemned the assault in the strongest terms, calling it “a cowardly and barbaric act aimed at undermining our shared efforts in the fight against terrorism.”
President Traoré reiterated his country’s commitment to battling terrorism alongside international allies.
“We remain steadfast in our resolve to fight against this scourge, standing shoulder to shoulder with our allies and all those who work towards achieving lasting peace across the world,” he added.
