Morocco showcases strong presence at invest in Senegal forum

Morocco has confirmed its prominent participation in the 2nd “Invest in Senegal” economic forum, which opened on Tuesday at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre (CICAD) in Diamniadio, near Dakar.
The Moroccan delegation, led by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, includes key economic operators and leading figures from the banking, energy, medical, pharmaceutical, and water sectors.
The Kingdom’s involvement underscores its support for Senegalese development initiatives and reflects the enduring fraternal ties between the two nations.
“The high-level Moroccan participation in this Forum reflects our commitment to Senegal’s economic development and our dedication to strengthening South-South partnerships,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rabat stated.
King Mohammed VI’s vision for Africa’s economic growth continues to guide Morocco’s engagement on the continent.
The two-day forum brings together heads of state and government from Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso, Niger, and South Africa, as well as international investors and local project leaders. It serves as a strategic platform to promote business opportunities, foster economic cooperation, and enhance regional development.
Opening the forum, Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye emphasized the need for a transformative approach to investment. “We have undertaken major reforms in the legal and regulatory framework to create the essential conditions for investment,” he declared, addressing an audience of African leaders, diplomats, and investors from five continents.
Umaro Sissoco Embaló, President of Guinea-Bissau, called for a reimagining of investment strategies across Africa. “Investments must prioritize strong social impact and sustainably transform the living conditions of African populations,” he said, highlighting the forum’s focus on inclusive and long-term economic growth.
As one of West Africa’s leading economic events, the Invest in Senegal Forum offers an opportunity for nations and private sector actors to forge partnerships, connect investors with local projects, and strengthen the continent’s economic resilience.
Morocco’s active participation signals its continued commitment to regional cooperation and mutually beneficial economic development.
