The Union of Students of Torossanguéhi (UNEET) hosted the 7th edition of the Academic Excellence Day on Saturday, celebrating outstanding students from public primary schools and the local middle school.
The event took place in Torossanguéhi, a community situated 56 kilometres from Bondoukou.
Founded in 2007 by Kouakou Koffi Albert, UNEET, currently chaired by Hehebory Kossia Esther, organises the annual ceremony to recognise academic merit and encourage students to persevere in their studies.
Patron of the ceremony, Kouman Kouassi Richard, underscored that success rests on “three pillars: hard work, discipline, and perseverance.”
He added: “Your successes are not only a reflection of your talent, but also of your ability to work hard and overcome obstacles.
Excellence is not a destination, but a permanent journey,” while also paying tribute to teachers and parents for their dedication.
The president of the organising committee, Kra Teya Mathieu, whose remarks were delivered by his deputy, Hehebory Kobenan Ulrich, highlighted the collective effort behind each student’s achievements. “Excellence is the fruit of work and perseverance.
Behind every success lie hours of effort, research, and sacrifice. Dear parents, the excellence of your children is also your victory,” he said.
Nama Adjé Christian, principal of the Toro Sanguehi Modern College, encouraged students to maintain their dedication. “When we work well, we are sure to move forward and go far,” he stated, praising UNEET’s initiative.
Top students were recognised across the primary and secondary school levels. In primary school, Kouakou Akoua Tendresse of CP1 earned the highest female distinction with an average of 13.69/20, while Kobenan Yao Meshac of CE2 was the top male student with 19.31/20.
In secondary school, Hien Sansan of 6th grade was named best male student, and Kobenan Yawa Estelle of 4th grade was the top female student with an average of 14.53/20.
