The Ministry of Defence has announced a large-scale recruitment campaign for the National Gendarmerie, aimed at strengthening the country’s defence and security forces.
The initiative invites young Cameroonians interested in serving the nation to apply for various positions across the armed forces. According to the ministry’s statement, 700 places are available for Army non-commissioned officer trainees in the General Service stream, while 40 positions are open for those in the Military Health stream.
Additionally, 5,330 posts are being offered for the ordinary recruitment of soldiers and second-class seamen.
Selection tests will take place in the regional capitals of Cameroon’s ten administrative regions, providing candidates across the country with the opportunity to participate.
The Ministry of Defence highlighted that this recruitment drive is part of a broader effort to reinforce national security and ensure that the Gendarmerie has the personnel necessary to respond effectively to emerging security challenges.
Interested applicants are encouraged to follow official procedures and submit their applications promptly, as the recruitment process is expected to be highly competitive.
This campaign represents one of the largest recruitment initiatives in recent years for Cameroon’s security forces and reflects the government’s commitment to expanding and professionalising its defence and law enforcement personnel.
The National Gendarmerie, a key component of the country’s security apparatus, is responsible for maintaining public order, safeguarding citizens, and supporting military operations nationwide.
With the launch of this recruitment drive, Cameroon seeks to attract a new generation of committed personnel who will contribute to the stability and safety of the nation.
