The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Ralph Poku-Adusei, has called on delegates and stakeholders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to set aside past differences, remain united, and focus on reclaiming power in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at the Bekwai constituency annual delegates conference, Poku-Adusei emphasized the importance of reconciliation and solidarity within the party.
The event brought together 894 delegates, 34 electoral area coordinators, past executives, patrons, council of elders, regional representatives, Members of Parliament, and other key party figures.
“ We have done it before, in 2000 and again in 2016, when the NPP bounced back to secure victory. We can do it once more, but only if we stay united, hungry, and focused,” he declared, urging members to channel their ambition into determined efforts for electoral success.
Quoting the saying, “a hungry man is an angry man,” he encouraged delegates to transform their hunger into discipline and resilience.
The conference, organized by Poku-Adusei in collaboration with constituency executives, aimed to reconcile factions, welcome back former members who had defected, and strengthen the party’s base ahead of upcoming political contests.
Poku-Adusei pledged his personal commitment to fostering reconciliation and charged all members to actively participate in building a formidable front for the 2028 elections.
NPP Bekwai Constituency Chairman, Alex Arko Addai Darkwa, urged members to embrace the party’s symbol, the elephant, as a unifying tool. He advised delegates not to be distracted by the impending flagbearership contest, but to focus on rallying behind a candidate capable of securing electoral victory.
Notable party figures, including Joseph Osei Owusu, former First Deputy Speaker and former Bekwai MP, and NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, participated virtually via Zoom. Their presence highlighted the strategic importance of maintaining cohesion and momentum within the party ahead of future elections.
The conference concluded with a renewed call for unity, strategic planning, and grassroots mobilization, as the NPP seeks to position itself for a successful return to power in 2028.
