The Syli National football team of Guinea has welcomed a large contingent of players to its headquarters in Kampala ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Somalia.
Training resumed on Monday as the squad prepares for Friday’s fixture at the Mandela National Stadium.
New additions to the team include Moussa Camara Pinpin, Yadaly Diaby, Mohamed Soumah, Serhou Guirassy, Aliou Badara Baldé, Mouctar Diakhaby, Issiaga Sylla, Antoine Conté, Salifou Soumah, Abdoulaye Touré, Sylla Soumaïla, Algassimou Bah, and Ibrahim Koné.
The expanded roster now totals 21 players, reflecting a strategic boost ahead of matchday seven of the African qualifying campaign.
“The arrival of these players strengthens our options both in defense and attack,” said a team official. “We are focused on preparing meticulously to secure a positive result against Somalia.”
Key players Seydouba Cissé, Ibrahima Camara, and Ousmane Camara are expected to rejoin the full squad in the coming hours, further bolstering Guinea’s chances in Kampala. Training sessions have been structured to integrate the new arrivals while maintaining tactical cohesion among existing team members.
The first group took part in Monday’s session, focusing on fitness and tactical drills, ahead of the second training session scheduled for Tuesday.
