In a major initiative aimed at supporting family cohesion and social stability, Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity has launched a comprehensive training program targeting 1,000 social pioneers across ten governorates.
The program is implemented under the National Programme for the Preservation of the Egyptian Family “Mawadda” in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The training initiative focuses on women leaders from Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Assiut, Fayoum, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Beni Suef, and Qalyubia, equipping them with the skills needed to serve as agents of change in their communities.
Dr. Randa Faris, Advisor to the Minister for Family, Women, and Child Development, explained that the program reflects a broader developmental vision, aiming to empower female cadres to raise community awareness and reinforce family values.
“This initiative is designed to enable women to be a driving force in promoting social cohesion and stability,” she said.
The program consists of intensive three-day courses, totaling 18 training hours, covering critical topics such as reproductive health, family planning, and strategies to prevent domestic violence.
Participants are also trained in addressing the causes and consequences of family violence, ensuring the creation of a safe and stable family environment.
In addition to technical knowledge, the program emphasizes practical skills, including effective communication, conflict resolution, and basic psychological support.
These competencies prepare the social pioneers to provide guidance and assistance during crises, making them pivotal partners in community development and sustainable growth.
Dr. Faris highlighted that the training sessions are delivered by a specialized team of Mawadda instructors, themselves rigorously trained to facilitate interactive and participatory learning, maximizing the program’s developmental impact.
Through this collaboration between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and UNFPA, the initiative seeks to transform societal awareness by building a network of empowered women who act as ambassadors for positive change.
By strengthening the role of women in family and community life, the program underscores Egypt’s commitment to sustainable development, family stability, and the creation of more resilient communities.
