The Worodougou Regional Council has inaugurated a series of essential infrastructure projects across several villages, aiming to improve access to health and social services for local communities.
The launch, led by the first vice-president of the Regional Council, Koné Aboubacar Sidick, took place on Monday, August 11, 2025, in the villages of Suinla, Lenguèkoro, and Dualla.
The initiatives include the construction of a dispensary and housing for nurses in Suinla, a maternity ward and accommodation for healthcare personnel in Lenguèkoro, and a perimeter fence for the sub-prefecture in Dualla.
“These projects are designed to provide quality basic services and sustainably improve the living conditions of our communities,” said Mr. Koné. He emphasized that the Regional Council, chaired by Bouaké Fofana—also Minister of Hydraulics, Sanitation, and Health—is committed to delivering tangible improvements in health, education, and social infrastructure.
This series of projects marks the second phase of a broader development program launched on July 26, 2025. The first phase focused on constructing a dispensary and nurse housing in Gbohovo, as well as a three-classroom building at the Public Primary School in Teguela.
Mr. Koné highlighted that more than 30 projects are currently underway across Worodougou, targeting key areas including health, education, access to drinking water, and social development. “Our goal is to build a modern, united, and forward-looking Worodougou that meets the aspirations of its citizens,” he stated.
The ceremonies included the laying of the foundation stone at the Suinla health centre by the central sub-prefect of Séguéla, Abel Nemlin, and the Regional Council delegation, underscoring the local government’s hands-on approach in monitoring and supporting these initiatives.
These projects form part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the region’s infrastructure network and improve the quality of life for residents, reflecting Ivory Coast’s commitment to inclusive regional development.
