Engineer Ashraf Fathy Mahmoud, Chairman of the New Damietta City Authority, has toured a major urban development project being implemented in partnership between the New Urban Communities Authority and the private sector.
Accompanied by senior officials from the authority, Mr Mahmoud visited the site to assess the progress of construction, which includes chalets and residential apartment buildings. The inspection aimed to ensure the project is advancing according to schedule and to address any obstacles that might hinder its timely completion.
During the visit, the delegation reviewed recent developments, monitoring compliance with the technical and architectural standards outlined in the project’s approved licences. Officials also confirmed that all work was being carried out in line with the requirements set by the relevant authorities.
Mr Mahmoud emphasised the importance of maintaining momentum to deliver the project on time, stressing that cooperation between the public and private sectors was vital to achieving high-quality urban developments in the city.
The New Damietta City Authority said the site visit formed part of its broader efforts to supervise ongoing urban expansion and ensure that all developments meet regulatory, safety, and design standards.
The partnership project is among several initiatives aimed at boosting housing availability and enhancing the city’s infrastructure, as New Damietta continues to attract both residential and investment interest.
By coordinating closely with stakeholders, the authority hopes to streamline the implementation process and ensure that new housing units are delivered promptly to meet growing demand.
The inspection marks another step in the government’s drive to foster collaboration with the private sector to accelerate urban growth and improve living standards for residents of the coastal city.
